Ketchikan
The city of Ketchikan (Thundering Wings of an Eagle), once provided a wealth of fish for the native population. They would come here to fish in the summer months. After the land had been inhabited by other people, this city grew into one that relied on cutting the trees from the nearby forest. Once this forest became protected, the city had to create a new form of income. Today, tourism has become this income source. With the boost of tourism, and a cultural protection of totem poles, there is much to explore. The people are warm and helpful, and there is a sense of excitement in the air.
