This museum is smaller than the Uffizi, however, if you have time, don’t skip it. This museum holds the famous statue David by Michelangelo. It also houses the six Prisoners that he worked on as you walk up to this masterpiece.

This museum also is the home to many other pieces of artwork and special instruments from the Medici family. It has many paintings, and sculptures that have been kept out of the elements.

Entry into this museum is 12.50 Euro with an extra 4 Euro charge for reservations. If there isn’t a temporary exhibit at the time of the visit, the cost will be lower.

 

Because this is home to David, this is an extremely popular museum. As such, there will be long lines even if reservations have been requested. Plan on waiting to get in. Pictures are allowed but no flash.
