The Bahamas
Nassau, the capital of The Bahamas, is a bustle of commotion. The city is home to more than 50% of the country’s population. It is a welcoming city that will put a smile on your face. Full of Caribbean life, the colorful buildings are painted bright colors to ward away the hurricanes and keep everyone safe. Two important things to remember!! When driving in the Bahamas, drive on the left side of the road! The other is that the US dollar and the BSD (Bahamian Dollar) are used interchangeably.
One of the greatest strengths of this country is the people themselves. Everyone is helpful and friendly! Even when you don’t expect it, they will help make your visit picture-perfect. Just remember, while experiencing the culture, enjoying the Fish Fry, or riding around on the jitneys (locally owned busses); talk to the locals!!!! The local people are friendly, happy, helpful and will enhance your island experience.
