A beautiful monument in front of the Greek Parliament.

Right along Syntagma Square is the home to many shops, hotels, the Greek Parliament, and the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The guards that oversee these building switch places every hour. If you want to get a good spot to watch the whole ceremony, come about twenty minutes early. The ceremony does take some room for the guards to maneuver.

Soldiers honoring the fallen.

Don’t forget to stay behind the line as you watch the high steps of the guards clack their shoes against the marble. Even from a distance, the clack of their shoes can be heard. Once the guards have been switched, you can get pictures standing right next to one of the guards. One at a time please.
