The island of Cozumel was a sacred place for the Mayan culture.  It was the home of the fertility goddess, and offerings were made for her. Since this was such a sacred location, it was also a large pilgrimage for women to come here. Once Europeans discovered this part of the world and began to conquer it, this island became a safe location for the Mayan people.

Today, this island retains a special place for not just the Myan, but for Mexico and those who wish to come for vacations. The people here are amazing, the food is incredible, and the weather is wonderful. This island is known for one of the best diving locations in the world, but is also a wonderful spot for other adventures.
