As a kid climbing onto a plane from Istanbul to head home from my first trip abroad, I looked at my assigned seat to find something unexpected! A small coin had fallen out of a passenger’s pocket and was waiting for me. What a GEM! A coin from India!

This small object changed my life. Finding this coin opened my eyes and sparked my curiosity about the world. It fueled my desire to explore other cultures. I wanted to know more, so I began  to learn about other people, and share my knowledge with those I meet.
