Van Gogh Museum

Van Gogh Museum

Welcome to the world’s largest collection of Van Gogh’s artwork under one building. This multi-leveled building is home to incredible paintings, drawings, and letters. Spend your time walking by the magnificent paintings of flowers, trees, landscapes, rooms, and beautiful stars. Don’t forget the vast amounts of self-portraits that he painted continually through his life. With over 200 paintings, 500 drawings, and 700 letters, this museum captures much of this artist!

Though Van Gogh had a very difficult life, full of many troubles, his artwork is renown today! In his life, he suffered under a metal condition, only was able to sell one painting, drove people away, was reliant on his brother for finances, and yet painted artwork extremely unique of the time, and has opened our eyes into how the world is viewed with different shapes, shadows, and colors. Van Gogh’s brush strokes are amazing, and when visiting the paintings, you will notice something incredible. If you keep a distance from a piece of his, you will see such beauty and fluidity in the art. Step much closer and the same piece will change. Each stroke from his paintbrush is noticeable, and you gain a much better appreciation of the artwork and the massive amount of detail that was placed into each minute centimeter of the whole canvas.
